Early access

One developer. One partner. One focused day.

DevPacs pairs you with another developer. You install each other's apps, complete one real task, submit proof and written feedback, and review the result within 24 hours.

Web-only early access for developers with a live iOS or Android app. Duos are the only open format.

A Duo is two developers and 24 hours

Both developers bring an app and choose the device they will test on. The run begins once both install proofs are approved.

1

Join a Duo

Add your app, choose a focused task for your partner, name your test device, and pay the 20-token entry fee.

2

Confirm the install

Install your partner's app and upload proof. Once both developers approve, the 24-hour clock starts.

3

Do the real task

Open the app from DevPacs, complete the timed task, then submit a screenshot and a written response.

4

Review and finish

Approve valid work or reject it with a reason. The Duo settles automatically when the run finishes.

Effort is enforced, not requested

Asking nicely doesn't produce good test feedback. DevPacs makes the incentives do the work.

Proof, not promises

A task can only be submitted after you've genuinely spent time in the app.

  • The app has to be opened from DevPacs, which timestamps the tap
  • A one-minute gate runs before the submission form unlocks
  • Screenshot plus a written response, minimum twenty characters
  • The submission must land before the 24-hour Duo closes

Freeloading has a cost

Members who skip their side of a Duo accumulate account-wide inactivity points.

  • Missing your one Duo task adds ten points
  • Completing a later Duo task clears five points
  • Reach twenty and you cannot join a new Duo until they are cleared
  • A failed Duo forfeits its entry fee and banked earnings

A simple early-access token loop

Tokens keep both sides accountable. New accounts start with 40—enough to complete two Duos.

You spend

  • 20 to join a Duo with your app
  • The entry fee is not returned after the run starts

You earn

  • 5 when your install proof is approved
  • 10 when you complete the Duo task
  • 10 when the Duo completes successfully

Task earnings are banked until the Duo closes. Optional token packs are sold through Stripe Checkout on the web; there are no subscriptions during early access.

Nobody spends their own money to test your app

You may never ask a member to use a personal payment method

No personal cards, no personal accounts, no "we'll refund you if you get charged." If your app has a paid flow that needs testing, you supply a sandbox: test card numbers, a demo account with credits, a staging environment, or a TestFlight build wired to sandbox purchases.

This is a rule, not a suggestion. Members can report a request for payment in one tap, and upheld reports carry warnings, removal from a pack, or a ban.

Disputes get a second pair of eyes

If a developer rejects your submission and you think that's wrong, you can dispute it. Another member of the same pack reviews the dispute and earns tokens for doing so. Anything unresolved goes to an admin.

Reporting is built in

Abuse, spam, low-quality tasks, unclear instructions and payment requests are all reportable from the profile or the task itself, with an optional screenshot. Every report reaches an admin and gets a decision.

Questions people ask first

Do I need my own app to join?

During early access, yes. The tester role remains part of the product, but tester-only joins are closed while we validate the developer-to-developer Duo.

How much of my time does a pack take?

A Duo lasts up to 24 hours after both installs are approved. Budget enough time to use one partner app properly, complete its task, and write a useful response.

What happens if I miss a day?

Missing your Duo task adds 10 account-wide inactivity points. Completing a later task removes 5, down to zero. At 20 points you cannot join a new Duo until you clear them.

Can I see who tested my app?

Yes. Your partner's submission shows their screenshot and written response, and you approve or reject it with a reason.

Is my unreleased app safe to put in a pack?

DevPacs currently accepts live store listings. It is not a substitute for an NDA, so do not use a Duo to share confidential material or credentials.

Is there a web version?

Early access is web-only at app.devpacs.com on desktop and phone. On iPhone, add it to the Home Screen to receive web push notifications.
